Hello, Liberty community!
It is a joy and privilege to serve as your new pastor. Below is a little information about me for those who are curious:
I am an ordained elder having served the past five years as the pastor of Charlotte-Fagan UMC in Charlotte, TN. Before that, I was on staff as the Young Adult Minister at Belmont UMC in Nashville. I am originally from Athens, Georgia, and moved to Tennessee to attend seminary at Vanderbilt Divinity School in 2009 after graduating from the University of Georgia. It was there I met my wife Emily; we will have been married for six years next Sunday. We do not have any children but do have an adopted stray cat named Kirby. In the fall, I will be pursuing my second Master's degree in mental health counseling at Trevecca. My goal is to live out a part of my calling that seeks to care for other clergy and folks who serve people in non-profits who suffer from loneliness and burnout. I love cooking, travel, anything to do with my hometown Athens, and all sorts of music and culture. Emily and I love hiking and kayaking whenever we get the chance. I grew up United Methodist and feel equally at home in high liturgy and free-flow contemporary styles. When COVID is over, expect me to push for church barbecues, outdoor concerts, and trivia night!
