Pastor - Felicia Kumar

Before I go any further, I would like to share about my family origin.  I am from Chennai, the southern part of India.  I came to the United States in September 1988 along with our two daughters Poornima & Penny who were ready to begin their first grade and preschool!  Moses my husband, came to the US a year prior in October 1987 to explore his higher education.  We have been greatly blessed and so are grateful and thankful to God for His ongoing abundant grace and mercies in our lives.  We lived in Philadelphia, PA for twenty years and due to Moses’ position with our denomination as the General Secretary and Treasurer for the General Council on Finance and Administration, moved to Nashville, TN in September 2008.  Also in 2016, Moses received his call to ministry and was licensed as a Local Pastor during the Annual Conference in 2018.  In addition to his position with GCFA, he pastors a congregation (Lillard Chapel UMC) in Murfreesboro, TN.

As I mentioned earlier, we have been blessed with two delightful daughters!  Poornima, our oldest, who studied to be a Physician Assistant is married to Rohit who is a Bariatric surgeon in Philadelphia, PA.  They are blessed with a son and a daughter, Remy 9 and Riya 6.  Peninnah (we call her Penny) is our youngest daughter.  She is a Podiatrist and she practices and lives in Mount Juliet, TN.  She is married to Jonathan who is a Project Manager at Deloitte.  They are blessed with two boys, James 5 & Judah 2.  I thank God for our children for their love, support, prayers and encouragement in our call to ministry!

As for me, I received my Masters in Divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary (formerly known as Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA) and have been in ministry serving in various capacities with different United Methodist churches since 1989.  I give thanks to God for my journey of faith and for my call to ministry and how God is continually leading me to share the love of Christ with people of all ages in new and dynamic ways.  I am so thankful and privileged that God is now leading me to serve as your pastor at Liberty UMC! I also give thanks for how God has already been at work among you through the hard work and dedication of Pastors Paula & Jacob and so many others that came before them.

I truly believe that the Lord who has begun a good work among us will go on developing it until the day Jesus returns in glory!  It is my hope and prayer that I will get to know each of you in a very personal way and also learn about your individual and collective vision for our church and beyond, particularly in making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.   If you wish to have a conversation with me or pray with me for a specific need or concern or would like to just chat or visit with me at church, at your home or elsewhere, please call me or text me at 484-919-2114.  You may also drop me a note to my residence at 707 Lance Way, Mount Juliet, TN 37122 or email me at feliciakumar22@gmail.com  I am at your call!  See you all soon!

Thank you and may God bless us all!

jhuangyeh@email.usn.org

Josephine Huang-Yeh, a native of Republic of China, came to the States more than 20 years ago. Josephine started to be a pianist at her 1st church at the age of 14, and has been playing for churches ever since, from Taiwan to US. She has played for children's choir, adults' choir, women's ensemble, and praise worship. She has also conducted college choir, children's choir, handbell choir, and served as a praise worship leader before she came to Liberty three years ago. She loves to "sing and dance with her fingers on the keyboard, and often integrates both the traditional hymns with contemporary praise songs. She truly believes that "the spirit that inspired the musician to write a wonderful hymn is the same spirit that inspires the composer to write a contemporary song to praise God.  Josephine has two masters' degrees, one in Education, the other in instructional technology. She is currently a full time teacher at University School of Nashville. Her "collection is to teach kids from 18 month old to 18 years old. She loves to write caring cards, take pictures, do Taichi, do drama, sing, and every now and then to teach cooking classes.
